I’ve previously mentioned that Barnes and Noble was now providing free wifi and I have been anxious to report that more merchants are adding this service to draw in the tech savvy crowd. Beginning today, McDonald’s is also offering free wifi at the majority of it’s U.S. locations. Cheap coffee and free wifi, now there’s a match made in heaven! Here’s the original news story from Yahoo News:
Starting today, fast-food restaurant McDonald's will begin offering free Wi-Fi access at 11,500 of its 14,000 U.S. locations. It's a nice improvement from the $2.95 they were previously charging for two hours, and it could come in pretty handy in a pinch, considering the ubiquity of McDonald's.I can hear it now, “would you like free wifi with that or maybe a hot apple pie?” Let me know if you give Mickey D’s a try this weekend. I’ll be on the road and may just have to stop in for a quick beverage and to check my e-mail! I might also like a hot apple pie with that.

1 additional notes:
Thanks for the heads-up, Doc! I may have to try that out this weekend, too. :-D
Starbucks can't be far behind...I hope. Go McDs!
