Learn all you need to know about Chrome OS -- with video

Review another video and learn more about Doc’s experiences with ChromeOS after the click below.

And here’s a demo of the beta in action from the Google preview event:

I’ve tried the beta version of Chrome OS (using the image and instructions provided by the good folks at GDGT) using VirtualBox 3.1 beta and have to say, so far the OS is nothing more than a fast browser on top of a faster OS with no configuration options. But that’s mainly due to the beta not enabling the “login to the cloud features” to all but google.com domain account holders. 7 second boot time...Really? Yep...that's about how long it took on my VirtualBox setup as well. An easier way to experience Chrome OS is to simply download and install the Chrome(Chromium) browser on your current computer.

Rest assured, Doc will keep an eye and mouse click on the beta’s progress. For now, not much to get excited about other than giddy anticipation of next year’s final release. I can’t wait until I can fire up Chrome OS on my Acer Aspire One!

Have you tried Chrome OS? Drop me a comment and tell me about your experience as well as your thoughts on Google’s new OS.
