Bear with me, this was very unscripted with several pauses, ahs and ohs.
So how can you “get your audioBoo on?” Here's what you need to do to get started:
Setup:
- Visit the audioBoo website (http://www.audioboo.fm) and create an account
- On your iPhone (should work on iPod Touch if you have a mic connected), download the audioBoo application from the App Store (it's FREE!)
- On the audioBoo iPhone app, link to your AudioBoo account by clicking on the Account button at the bottom-right of the screen
- Using the audioBoo iPhone app, click the Record button - a three second countdown will be presented
- Record up to three minutes of audio by holding the phone naturally to your ear and mouth - consider using a timer to ensure you don't go over three minutes (you might want to try this online timer)
- You can pause or stop recording at anytime during the three minutes using the Pause button
- Review your recording using the Play button and the scrubber
- If you are happy with the recording, tap the Publish button - the Publish page will appear
- On the Publish page you can add an image (from the camera or from the iPhone Photos app), a title and tags
- Finally, tap the Upload button to have your audioBoo file uploaded from the iPhone to your audioBoo page
If you click on either of these badges, you'll be subscribed to all future Doc’s Tech Notes audioBoos via iTunes (another audioBoo feature). What do you think? Useful...or faddish? What suggestions do you have for the use of audioBoo? Leave a comment and add to this note.
