I'm a bit flustered as to why Fedora 10 doesn't include a Control Center (similar to Mac Preferences or the Windows Control Panel). Instead, only a select number of options are available when selecting System | Preferences from the GNOME menu. Here are the steps to access to the Control Center.
:: From the GNOME main menu select System | Preferences | Look and Feel | Main Menu - the Main Menu dialog box will appear
:: Select the Preferences menu and a list of items already appearing in this menu (check marks) along with others that are not are displayed (no check marks)
:: Select Control Center - a check mark will appear next to the item
:: Click the Close button
:: From the GNOME main menu select System | Preferences | Control Center
Now you have access to a wide variety of system preferences. Be careful, and remember the Spiderman power/responsibility quote! also Useful for other GNOME based distros that don't include the Control Center by default.
